Metal pins #2

Great idea to prevent wobble. I added dual z and its quite nasty to alin perfectly with bent z rods.

Where did you get the 8mm metal pins? Thanks

Tekti commented 2 years ago

Metal pins which i used was from BOSSARD: 1255622 BOSSARD Ø: 2mm; L: 8mm. You can find them on tme https://www.tme.eu/en/details/b2x8_bn684/safety-pins/bossard/1255622/ or in local stores.

I have updated files for this design on the thingiverse page, it can be find here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5164752

many thanks for this link

However, thinking twice about this mod on dual z axys mod I am not sure if it will work very well since it only pushes the gantry from below and acts more like a gravitational force to come back down

IE: if one sides on dual z raises the other side higher, the magnets will not have enough force to keep the side level.

what do you think ?

It depends on which dual z system you are using. I am using dual z with belt connection at the top. Anti wobble is mounted on stepper drive side and it is working without any problems. With dual z on two seperate drives you should use 2 devices, mounted on each lead screw. With dual driver setup (each drive hase different stepper driver) it should be also possible to equalize the x-axis gantry.

Currently, I have it mounted exactly the same as you and its almost impossible to align everything perfectly, since the rods are not straight. I will give it a go when the magnets and pins arrive.

If its not perfect I will probably switch the Z to dual belts with motor mounted on top. :)
