Telegram unable to save your data SD card

I am on an Android device, Android v11.

Setting Telegram to use the SD card for storage has no effect.

Interestingly, using Files to access the likely path on the SD Card results in an error.

Using Files to navigate to SD Card > Android > Data > org.telegram.messenger results in Files showing a spinning access icon that never ends.

Trying to delete org.telegram.messenger results in an error.
