@laktyushin can you please take a look at this?
We've only asked for custom tones for years, been told for years it isn't possible, and then when it is finally possible, Telegram does nothing with that.... I guess they want Signal to leapfrog them.
In iOS I can sync my own ringtones via iTunes or buy something in store. It would be great if you just have simple solution like "use system text tone"
Telegram really is the best platform of messaging out there and I'm thankful for it; but the fact that you deny the users and don't react to these issues while the project is in active development, it feels so bad and insulting in some ways. I wish you people would hear our voice and at least give us your opinion on it.

Apple does not allow to set user-provided sounds for push notifications.
False statement. iOS allows you to use your own custom sounds in push notifications.
just the example how iOS apps do it https://companion.home-assistant.io/docs/notifications/notification-sounds#custom-push-notification-sounds
Yes, Signal offers the use of custom notifications on iOS.
Telegram has no excuse anymore other than "We don't want to do it.", since they no longer can say "Apple won't let us do it, so we just can't."
Has there been any progress on this feature? Long time user here and really missing this since switching over to the iOS ecosystem.
no sign ... no dev response ...
This would be an awesome feature. Please look into it!
plz.....
please...
Still no news about this?
Still nothing, I really hope this gets an update soon. Itβs quite disappointing and with telegrams recent uptick in users I would hope they have more resources to handle this.
π₯³π₯³π₯³ Thank a lot for implementing it Telegram team πππ
Signal is able to add custom tones, can the process be replicated with Telegram? Iβm referencing another post below that explains it better than I can.
Hey iOS-Telegram team, i want to ask at this point again for supporting custom tones. I had a closer look on the singal messenger code and they did it with connecting the iOS local storage to the app. Maybe you can do this in the same way (There I had to put my sound file into the local storage/Downloads/Signal-sounds folder).
It would be greate when you can make this possible :)
