Select a task from MapRoulette and open it in JOSM. It is recommended to always open the task in a new JOSM layer, so that the risk of an edit conflict to appear is minimized.
In JOSM, activate the OpenStreetCam plugin. Make sure to activate high quality images by right-clicking on the plugin, Preferences > Display high quality images when selecting image location.
Next, right click on the OpenStreetCam plugin, select Filter data and check the Detections box, in order to see the detections.
Optionally, add maxspeed.mapcss to easily spot existing speed limits in JOSM. The file is attached to this repository.
Verify the correct maxspeed using OSC images. Check for changes in speed limits along the road and split the way as needed.
Once you've successfully added the speed limit, hit the upload button in JOSM to commit the edit. Note that MapRoulette will automatically add the source from where the information was taken.
Finally, select a task status in MapRoulette so that other people can see that the task has been reviewed, and will not appear anymore.
This challenge focuses on adding missing speed limits in Detroit, MI, using OpenStreetCam detections.
