6 years ago We worked on this issue since the beginning of November. In our process to improve the map, we exported all the ways that contain the tag and then went one by one to verify the name according to Tiger Road 2017.
Thanks the community, these cases were fixed.
Where there wasn't Tiger data to correct the name, the name tag was deleted and this value "chdr_USA_AZ_name_fixup_required" was added as fixme (there are still 196 ways that contains this fixme tag). As we mentioned, we added missing names for highways up until tertiary and now we are still in progress with the quality assurance part, where we plan to correct the exiting names.
As workflow for complete the missing names, we extracted all the roads until tertiary that didn't contain the tag 'name' and then went one by one to verify if there is name in Tiger Road 2017,. In the table below you can find the reviewed roads per each road category:

Reviewed roads are represented using colors to indicate the level of density: darker colors indicates high density, and brighter colors low density.
In this project we will map road name in Phoenix. Our priority will be fixing the names with "chdr_USA_AZ_name_fixup_required" value. More about this issue can you find here: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk-us/2017-August/017679.html. We filtered out the roads that have this name value from OSM. Due there are ~5200 ways that need to be checked so we created a MapRoulette challenge: http://maproulette.org/view/2793. Affected roads:
