How about this one?
Google does it differently. They represent color by an underline and then what they are editing, an icon above the line.
Just search for color
here
A rainbow icon already exists. It's called looks.
Yeah, I must have missed that one. Let us know if that one doesn't fit your needs. We should add an alias of rainbow
for that one.
Wouldn't palette do?
I'm going to vote to rename the looks
icon to rainbow. Not sure why Google called it that originally, but it's confusing.
Ah, thanks,I missed that icon. In the meantime, however, I discovered the palette icon and am using it.

Yes. I discovered palette after I had suggested rainbow and am using it, so please close out my suggestion. A palette with a small pencil below it would be better, but I'm fine with palette by itself.

Actually, palette does the job for me.

True, but for my purposes, palette (which I learned about after I submitted my suggestion) is better.

Thanks, @fractalbob we'll close it out once the alias of rainbow is added.
Good to keep in mind. Thanks!

Yes, thanks, Michael! I like it much more than the look icon. How about an additional one that includes a pencil in the lower-right of the rainbow, indicating an edit function?

I don't think that makes any kind of sense as an icon. I don't even believe that the palette with a pencel would make sense.
I looking for the icon to convey "Edit colors".

Palette should do that on its own. Icons are dependent on UI context to add meaning.
Not sure why Google called it that originally, but it's confusing.
I'd assume it's for filters in a camera app.
Thanks, I've been using palette.

Closing this as the original requests seem to have been fulfilled. The aliasing of looks
is covered in #1913.
I like this one (with 3 rows) better than looks, which has just 2 rows.
Actually, what I'm looking for is an icon suggesting editing a color list, like a rainbow and pencil.
