hacker/game of life glider #7480

Before submitting a new icon request, please confirm the following:

What would you use this icon for?

the glider is one of the moving shapes that emerge from the cellular life rules from game of life. the shape is also commonly used by hackers to show association with the hacker culture. I personally find this a nicer symbol then the mdi:guy-fawkes-mask icon.

I would use it within home assistant as a map marker for my local hacker space and to show the space state (open or closed) with a state color

Give us an example of what this icon might look like.

see these several different emblems for examples: http://www.catb.org/hacker-emblem/ https://www.tutorialchip.com/freebies/25-splendid-minimalist-wallpapers-for-your-desktop/attachment/hacker-glider-emblem-wallpaper/

both square and rond options would be nice

These look pretty nice in my opinion. Thank you for making a draft.

Fyi you can use the provided svg's directly (the paths actually) until they make it into the library.

Blind-Mage commented 2 weeks ago

I have tried off and on over the past 2 weeks to try getting the paths/svgs to work. And for some reason my search engine wrangling skills are apparently not applying to this problem... can you point me in the direction I need to look for making my own/custom svgs work?

everything I find is either a question thread that feels unanswered or people pointing to some highly specific extension/addon/item from hacs/card/theme... and I am just not able to see the forest thru the trees anymore with that o,,o

your help will be again much appreciated

I'd like to help but from your comment I can't deduce what your problem actually is. If you are you already using MDI icons then it should be pretty simple to add custom ones. Now, in order to keep the issues separate (as this is an icon request/contribution, not troubleshooting), please open a new issue and include as many details about your situation as possible. Thanks!
