It's a brand icon, see the third point on your checklist.

Ok, I Interpreter the third point that logos wasn't allowed anymore, but products was allowed. I know that the text says product logos, is this what you mean, that an icon that represent a product also represents a company? A logo for me is a symbol for the company, but after I "talked" to ChatGPT I understand that a product also is a logo. I will delete this PR

steodor commented 5 days ago

It's not that representing a product is the same as representing the company that made it, it's only from a graphical design standpoint that it's the same thing. Any kind of logo would fall into this category no matter what it represents. That's because logos have intrinsic features that more often than not break the Material Design guidelines which this library closely follows. Such as in your example, the 1 pixel line width is a clear violation, and thickening it would misrepresent the product. It's like the linked page says, logos are simply not Material. Sorry.

Now, I wouldn't delete the PR just yet. Please tell me how is this charging robot different from ev-station? If there's a reasonably distinct variation, a new icon can easily make sense, even though it might not resemble the one you provided.

OK, strange that it got 2 pixels, I one draw with 1 pixel. This is my first icon I make, so I guess I did something wrong. ev-station can be used, it is same function(charge a car), ev-station maybe is more like a charge station that you find on the highways. My icon is for home charging of cars. I am fine to use ev-station since it has same function as mine. I understand that you cannot have an icon for each charger, today there are more than 10 different company that manufacture home chargers :)

I wouldn't know how to depict a "home electric pump" as in the current ev-station icon but with a house instead of that simple shape around the lightning bolt shape, mainly because of the roof that would make everything not fit properly. Hopefully someone with better imagination than me can take a stab at it?

Something like home-lightning-bolt or home-lightning-bolt-outline could also be used perhaps, if the pump/plug element is not mandatory.

Good luck!

Thanks

I will use ev-station
