Buzz from @-mention missing in consumption feed and in buzz tab, present in inbox

Hi,

The scenario is: an account I am using for a toy development project was 
@-mentioned in a public buzz post. That post shows up in the inbox, but not in 
the buzz tab and is also missing from the consumption feed. The account is not 
following anyone, the actor of the post is not following the account, comments 
are still enabled for the buzz, and other @-replies to this account have worked 
as expected.

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Unknown

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected is to:
1. See the buzz post in the API consumption feed
- Observed: This buzz post is not in the consumption feed
2. See the buzz post in the buzz tab inside of gmail
- Observed: This buzz post appears in the inbox, but not the buzz tab

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
For the consumption feed I am using the buzz-python-client running in Google 
App Engine. 

Please provide any additional information below.

I encountered another example with the same behavior, the buzz post shows up in 
the inbox but not in the consumption feed or under the buzz tab after an 
@-mention:

This is strange. I can see that comment in the activity stream for that user:

Is this intermittent or can you reproduce it with a smaller testcase?
