WTF details.lua & .bak is eating up huge space over years #375

Hi there,

So I just realized my Retail WTF folder gets strangely huge in size of a whopping 700MB and I just realized Details ate up 95% of space as it takes 20-22MB for each characters I have in WoW, multiplied by 2 for the autosave backup file. I use Details (base addon without streamer/vanguard/whatever plugins) for several years now but compared to other addons (the next largest is Prat3.0 with only 225KB) Details' wtf files looks strangely HUGE!

I do not consciously save segments afaik, I'm not interested to keep charts data / segments for later use. It may be turned on by default or I don't know why it eats up so much space but please help me how on Earth can I reduce the everyday WTF space usage of Details for all my 60 characters across the realms. Without deleting my addon settings (window size, position, used fonts, etc.) of course.

Is there any solution for this?

Hi, that's something interesting, let's figure out what's going on, shall we?

You need a software from Microsoft called "Visual Studio Code", open the 22mb file on it.

Minimize all tables (after the line number there's an arrow pointing down, click on it and it will point right and minimize the table) and see which one is taking more lines, this is an example on a 126Kbytes file:

Let me know which are the names of the tables with an absurd amount of lines (absurd >= 50 thousand lines).

Ok, so I installed the Visual Studio Code but couldn't figure out what to do here or how does it work. Where are tables to minimize? Also, couldn't figure out how to bring up that arrow icon.
