It would be scope creep to ask this app to implement V4V boosting or streaming. Buut... It wouldn't be scope creep to allow developers to place a lightning network address inside their modmenu manifest.
There's no existing app that could take advantage of this yet.
However, minecraft modders are often grossly overworked, and undercompensated for their works. Actually... Nearly ALL FOSS devs are treated this way. This can't go on!
Podcasting 2.0 is taking a brave new leap forward in a monetization strategy, built upon the best tech to do so. The tech is centered around the idea of: "how much value did my work give you?" -> "OK, if you can afford it: donate it back?".
The issue mostly stems from gatekeeper payment entities that suck up too much of any given transaction to make this micro-donations worth anything for either party.
All FOSS can take advantage of this.
And all it would require from this mod to implement in the MC modding niche - is:
[ ] A valid manifest field with a lightning address in it. Accessible via an API.
[ ] (not sure if this' present currently) An API for adding buttons: (this would be leveraged by the V4V mod, not the individual mods themselves)
e.g. [stream] -> modal asking for x SATS every y mins/hours/days/weeks used (all you would be doing is the button, not the streaming work)
e.g. [boost] -> modal asking for a 1 time donation of x SATS allowing you to enter a custom message (feedback, etc))
It would be scope creep to ask this app to implement V4V boosting or streaming. Buut... It wouldn't be scope creep to allow developers to place a lightning network address inside their modmenu manifest.
