Massive FPS drop in or near Japanese Maple Forests. [1.16.4/Fabric] #230

MC 1.16.4, Fabric, Terrestria 2.1.5. Mod list includes Sodium, Lithium and Phosphor.

As title, I drop from a steady 50 - 60 FPS in most other places down to <20 when I'm in or looking in the direction of a Japanese Maple Forest Biome. I assume the massive amounts of leaf carpet are the culprit.

I would very much like to keep this biome enabled; an option to disable just that aspect of the biome would do wonders.

I'm not sure how this could be an issue honestly, I've not experienced it personally but there shouldnt be anything more laggy about the leaf piles than a normal leaves block, we could possibly consider doing a similar optimization on them as we have for the conifer trees to truly find out.

This is likely caused by leaf decay on the trees, it probably affects sakura forests too.

I haven't done any testing to confirm that it truly was the leaf piles that were the cause, only that it was absolutely the Japanese Maple Forest biome. Once I got out of the biome, I was at 60 FPS looking away from it, and back down to sub-20 if I turned to look towards it.

If I can remember how to properly form the fill command, I can load into a testing world and try to wipe out all the leaf piles to see if that increases the FPS. Is there any info I can provide at the same time that would help?
