@craftjk, @rpavez - I described this feature in our recent call, but wanted to clearly describe it here.
Feature request description
Upon importing GenBank or SBOL files, each annotated protein coding sequence (CDS) is automagically translated into the corresponding amino acid sequence (AAS).
Each AAS is added to the AAS table (and given an appropriate name/ID based on a previously described template/scheme specified by the user/group), unless it already exists within the DB.
A single AAS can have multiple CDSs encoding it. The ability to link back to all Sequences that contain CDSs from the AAS is extremely valuable.
Each AAS is fed into a couple physical property calculators (e.g., MW, extinction coefficient) and the output is added to the AAS table as additional fields/columns.
