Enhancement_Major Displaying System Identifiers #189

Open TestCaTissue opened 10 years ago

TestCaTissue commented 10 years ago

CATDEVNIH-189: For editing almost all objects, the simple query often returns records that include a system identifier field, represented as a number (e.g. Collection Protocol Identifier, Site Identifier, User Identifier). These numbers are not useful to the end user because they have no meaning (they are system identifiers only). If possible, it would be much more useful to display the name (or other identifying attribute) associated with the system identifier rather than the identifer itself. For example, rather than displaying Site Identifier, display Site Name. I recognize that this may not be possible- just a suggestion.

sadiga: This is again part of the larger issue of what should be displayed as part of query results. This addressed in CATDEVNIH-169
