MCP4728 breakout is difficult to source! #1

You mentioned in the info that you could put the MCP4728 directly onto the board. Is this still a possibility? I've used those boards in a midi module before and they were very difficult to get hold of (a few years ago) .

I'm thinking of reformatting your 16 step sequencer to an MFOS style radial one, it's something I've always liked the look of, but the little MCP4728 boards will be a hurdle.

Nice work BTW, looks like an awesome sequencer!

sure, i'll try to upload a version that uses the chip instead of the breakout board within this week. You'll have to test it yourself though I'm not gonna order/build another one I already have two

Actually I hacked something together over lunch break. I am not sure but looking at the datasheet, the MSSOP version of the same dac should not need any outside components so fingers crossed that this will work with the exact same code. look at the recent commit. A MFOS style ring version would be great but might be a bit crowded to get 16 pots and 16 switches in that format.

Thanks! I'll take a look. I just mentioned this to a friend of mine and he said he's working on cloning the little 4728 PCB, so I may wait on that. 16 pots is a bit of a squeeze for sure, but I plan to move the switches to a little bank on the right of the ring, which should help.
