New Sync feature blew out entire whitelist #159

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Click Sync TO Google account on "main computer"
2. Click Sync FROM Google account on secondary computer.
3. Wait for destruction.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expected the list of allowed/trusted domains to remain intact, at least on
the main computer. It did not. I am not pleased.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.0.6.9 on Windows 8 Enterprise

Please provide any additional information below.
Not happy, and lost a ton of sites in that list.

Same issue as the above user, and I can reproduce the steps as he describes.

perhaps an automated/scheduled backup feature is in order first. Preferably
backing up to a location outside/above chromium profile directory

My sincere apologies to everyone regarding this bug.

It should be fixed in the latest release, v1.0.6.11, in which I've also
included a process on the Options page to try to restore your
whitelist/blacklist.

Please let me know if v1.0.6.11 fixes this for you (in terms of not wiping out
your whitelist/blacklist).

My apologies again.

It does appear to have restored my list and the whitelist is no longer clearing
out.

I could kiss you, I won't, but I could.
