As otherwise there is no way to quickly check Last.FM tags without playing an artist's track.

Last fm tags are song specific and not artist specific. In future i might consider to implement this feature

Possibly have to make a different request to Last.FM using just the artist name? There are definitely tags on Last.FM's artist pages.
