More context for SNW backlinks in sidebar #122

Currently, the SNW backlinks that are shown in both the hover view as well as the right sidebar are cutoff at specific points without the ability to expand the current window. In hover editor it's fine (at least for me - it's just for glancing). But when I want to see the entire context of the backlink, I can't do that in any view.

Standard Obsidian has the ability to "Add More Context" to backlink results, but obviously it doesn't have the ability that SNW has of being able to see a Heading's backlinks and backlink counts. If possible, it would be great to have the ability to add more context whenever browsing in the right sidebar - or even better have the results be displayed in a new page (sort of how LogSeq does it, underneath the page - obviously LogSeq approaches this more at a block-level).

This is particularly relevant for browsing heading backlinks because a page's backlinks can be browsed in standard Obsidian backlinks (although still not in a full dedicated page).

UPDATE: Forget about the full-page requirement. I just figured out I can just drag the SNW sidebar icon to a new tab and open it as a new page. This way I can easily alter the width of the page and the SNW content. The vertical space for each backlink "window" is still fixed though which means I can't expand it vertically to add more context. A button here to add more context is what I think would be super useful; and is what I am asking for.

Thank you for this suggestion. I have not added this feature because the SNW side pane already supports hover control (hold CMD and hover over a reference in the side pane). Additionally, you can edit the file with the hover editor plugin if installed. Therefore, if you combine these features, you achieve the desired result, which is, in effect, more powerful since the hover popup allows you to scroll through the entire document.

What do you think?

Thank you for your reply.

I understand your perspective in being able to hover over the items to see the full context. However, I still think that the ability to "show more context" to see the full contents is helpful. This is very similar to the way that LogSeq or Roam show references. We don't have that natively in Obsidian because in Obsidian the backlinks are only displayed for the entire page. I personally use Obsidian in a style similar to LogSeq where I link to individual headings in a single page, but because of Obsidian's limitations I am not able to see the "journal" of a particular heading. This is where I found SNW particularly helpful as it provides an overview of the references. But we still can't see the full "journal" of one particular heading in any way.

This is the functionality I thought SNW could consider adding. Please feel free to let me know your thoughts.

P.S: You were the reason I found out about TfTs. It has been an incredible journey so far using them. Thank you for your work.
