The 'Preview' is a real browser iFrame (as discussed in #7) and not a "real" preview of what will appear on the canvas. It would be good to recreate it so that it is accurate.
This might require the text input to be indirect in a <input>
However, since it seems per #7 shaping is working, maybe if #9 is fixed, this is Working As Intended and can just be closed
