This sounds like an interesting project. Here's my feedback:

• If you only have one year's worth of historical data, this problem might be hard to approach. The products that are on sale generally follow a yearly pattern (I think), so it would be difficult to do better than just predicting what was on sale on the same data last year.
• I'm not sure what the data would look like. The weekly circular is an image. How is this converted into features? I'm not sure you'll be able to have a feature for every product (there's too many products).
• If you want to treat this as a prediction problem, you should flesh out what exactly are the inputs and the outputs to the model.
