Should we do releases regularly on the main branch? If so, should the binaries be included? And should there be a changelog?

Proposal:

We do regular releases (e.g., each month, week, ...)
With each release, there is a changelog
Binaries are not included, users can clone and build if they want

I would prefer to have the main branch represent the currently newest, stable version of the code without restricting ourselves to only release updates on a schedule. Additionally, I think that writing a changelog would be too much work that is not really interesting for anyone right now.
