Terrain / Shadow problems #124

1. Sometimes the shadow on terrain disappears after changing shadows or after 
new game
2. shadow type "Normal" has incredibly slow performance (2x slower than depth - 
it should be faster)

3. shadow type "Normal" has heavy artifacts - flickering badly on some rocks, 
shadow caster alpha not working on e.g. asphalt pipes, maybe more...

4. distant terrain has darker shadow (again?)

2-4 are fixed and 1 went away after restart. looks like a paged geom material 
issue.
