Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.launch the game

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the game stop loading with a Windows error message. I see a background image
and this text:
"Loading, please wait...
Editor.overlay"

What version are you using? On what operating system?
last version 1.4 on Win 7 64 bit. My pc is a Sony notebook with an Ati 5650
mobile graphic card.

If i remember correctly, a past version of Stunt Rally was ok for me, but also
with 1.3 i was unable to load the game

Hi
Hmm, laptops aren't officially supported, but:
Pick Lowest preset in tab Graphics (at top). Quit and run game again.
You can try to switch to OpenGL in Screen tab, Render System* then quit and run
again.

hi,
thank you for your response, but i'm unable to load the game so i can't use the
game menu. It is possible to switch to OpenGL modifying some setting in the
game.cfg?

About the laptop support: i remember that a past version of Stunt Rally worked
for me, but i don't remember the version, sorry

Yes set in game.cfg under [ video ] the line to
rendersystem = OpenGL Rendering Subsystem
Anyway this may be not enought, try this game.cfg file,
it has minimal graphics options set:

it works!
as you suggested, i've set the rendersystem line to OpenGL.

i've also changed resolution to 1366x768 and fullscreen, leaving other options
to default (so no need of the game.cfg that you've posted).

It's quite fast, 40fps on more complicated tracks (tropic and fog) and 60/70
fps for others. Much more fast than the previous version that worked for me, so
you've made big steps ahead in the meantime.

Thank you for the support and also for the game :-)

Cool. Looks like a decent hardware this laptop.

--- For all using laptops (and not the newest ones) ---
Settings from comment 4 are quite minimal already (for hideous looking
Graphics) but
For absolutely minimal settings you can use this config:
(it also decreases much CPU usage for simulation, making it also crappy)

I'm closing, the lowest settings in graphics presets should do the same.
