Well, guess what, there are videos showing that the cars ARE drivable.
And I've already played multiplayer with at least 3 people that also can drive.

Let's make a poll of this topic.
- How long do you play S.R. ?
- What other games did you play, where you like driving better.
(if you post any NFS here, and no rally driving game, you got your answer why)

As a side note, fun fact: It took me like 6 months of driving Richard Burns
Rally to finally get the feeling and have fun. And I believe that was one of
the best experience I made, and also the best game.

I played Torcs, Speed Dreams, Auto Club Revolution, VDrift, Racer, Tile Racer,
etc.
I like simulation games, not arcade racing games.

Cool.
But that's the thing, those are all asphalt driving games. Gravel is different,
you don't just press throttle and turn.
Did you try any VDrift tracks in S.R. ? e.g. brands or zandvoort.
Which car did you drive on gravel, what tracks.
Cars ES and 3S are best for gravel, NS and TC6 are good too. But don't try 360,
CT or XM on gravel.

and: How long do you play S.R. ?
I have rather no idea how long is needed to get used to driving. I've been
playing for 1,5 year :).
I think a week is minimum if you didn't drive on gravel (just guessing).

My advices are: don't push throttle all the time (only after you just ended a
turn), brake before each turn, steer slightly, usually drive slower at first,
steer in opposite direction if you're sliding away from turn.
There are always test tracks: Test1-Flat, Test2-Asphalt, Test4-TerrainBig, etc.
- without road, where you can drive whererever you like to test tires and cars.
That's the best thing to get known with cars, understanding and controling
sliding, feeling which wheels spin, etc.

Also, (but after a lot of driving) you can check out .car files and tire
editing in game, if you like tweaking and messing with the simulation
parameters. But this is very time consuming, to get something better, and there
is a lot of tire parameters too.

And do not turn on TCS or ABS in gravel setup (or at all), that makes cars
slower and worse to play.
There is speed sensitive steering to decrease wheels steering angle at higher
speed, but it is also better to not have it on gravel.
I would recommend those tracks, as the easier to drive, and good to practice:
Short: I1-star3, F3-Snail, I4-Sunset, and J7-Hilly, J3-Rocky (but stay on
road), maybe J10-Spiral too.
Longer: A3-Canyon, C3-Vast.
And very simple, circle tracks: TestC1-circle, TestC4-ow, TestC8-align.
Or just check out the track's difficulty icon and its value, also as a column
in detailed view of tracks list.

Hope this will change a lot in next release 1.9, I'm fixing simulation issues
in issue 183. Still there will always be gravel and my remarks are true (maybe
put in Wiki?).
