Change boost to realistic NOS #238

I saluted the concept of boost since it was added. But in my opinion, the
current implementation has many problems and breaks the realism of car
functionality. Those are the things I believe should be done to make boost work
realistically:

- Make the power and effects of boost a property of the .car file, not a
setting in game.cfg (boost_power). Boost type and regeneration rules should
stay game settings, but the .car file must decide how boost affects that
vehicle. At best, the boost_power option can serve as a global multiplier.

- Boost currently works like rocket propellant. You can accelerate in the air
and if you flip your car on its hood boost still pushes forward. Using boost in
the R gear will also push your car forth while accelerating pushes it back...
IMO boost shouldn't work in R gear. In my opinion, boost should overpower the
engine and increase its acceleration instead... which should have the same
effect as current behavior but in a realistic form. It should also not push the
car if not pressing the accelerate key.

- Separately, I suggest renaming boost to NOS. Since that's the closest correct
name and technology in real life. I don't know if the name "boost" is for
artistic reasons, but personally I don't think it has a special meaning and NOS
would be more technical and appropriate.

Note that I might not know the reasons behind the current implementation of
boost, so apologies if I'm suggesting the breakage of an intended feature or
artistic objective in StuntRally. I just think the current way is theoretically
and physically out of place, and personally prefer a correct NOS system instead.

Nope.
Boost is a rocket booster. And it works so by my intentions.
This way you can have some fun flying, can get out of mud quickly, move forward
when upside down etc.
This was already suggested and I am not changing it.
NOS is useful only on asphalt were you have plenty of grip, then more torque
will accelerate car even more.
Why the hell would I need 2x more torque on gravel ? To spin wheels and
continue standing in place ? Boost is very usefull after hitting a tree too.
Even with TCS NOS doesn't make sense on gravel.
I understand that NOS is something that comes from real world and boost
doesn't, but glass pipe road neither right.

I played around with the in-game car editor, and setting acceleration to be
higher does work on dirt surfaces without spinning the tire in place (at least
for some cars). True about the glass pipes though :)

Anyway, if I may make one more suggestion here: What about having this as just
an option? It can be off by default, and as far as I'm concerned even out of
the menu (editable only in game.conf). Those who prefer realism can enable it
on their own account. You said it's been suggested before, so maybe enough
people want it to give sense to such a setting.
