Yes. I want it since ever.
It was already in games that used fixed pipeline only and no rtt's.

And CMR1 also had dirt on car, heh.
It can't be difficult. And can't drop Fps at all (like all effects do),
honestly.
Btw. Fix godrays, they don't appear on DX, and on GL are anyway in wrong place,
not where sun is. Also dof has issues with impostors.

I think a 2x2 or 1x1 depth only RTT targeted at sun from camera should
determine the amount of sun's glare.

Regarding god's rays: I noticed they don't work at all for me (could mean
they're in the wrong place) but assumed they're not fully implemented yet. I'm
on Linux (openSUSE 12.3) and have an ATI card with the proprietary driver
(fglrx).
As for depth of field, it works now and I didn't see anything wrong myself.
Only that it decreases performance considerably... especially when there's a
lot of vegetation (trees and grass) so I must keep it disabled.
