Closed ThatGeoGuy closed 10 years ago

ThatGeoGuy commented 10 years ago

Compile all the relevant sections for the Project Proposal as specified in the wiki and through issue #2, #3, #4, #5, #6. The final output format will be a PDF-type file.

While @ThatGeoGuy is assigned, other collaborators are welcome to edit and comment on versions of the final report before a final draft is submitted.

@ThatGeoGuy I sent you an email with the things that were missing in the introduction :)

I'm not sure if it's just me... I would like to do some edits, but I rather not start editing and find out that what I edited has already been changed. Thoughts? (Open question to everyone... so @ThatGeoGuy @hnanduri92 @b-en @acummins .. anyone?)

ThatGeoGuy commented 10 years ago

@hnanduri92 Please post changes you'd like here. I'll be at judo for the remainder of the evening, so I won't be able to make the changes right away.

@kathleen-a I agree. If you guys don't feel that you can sufficiently converse / edit using Github's commenting system, feel free to have a group discussion through another medium, and post the results here at the end of the discussion. As mentioned above, I cannot partake this evening as I will be training.

@kathleen-a Yes I agree with you. This is what I would like to add to the introduction.

Our aim for this course (ENGO 500) is to work on a project as a group in order to increase our knowledge and to prepare ourselves to work as professional engineers in the future. Our group has decided to use GitHub in order to keep track of tasks assigned to each individual and all the documentation/reports required to successfully complete this project.
There are a few goals that we wish to fulfill by the end of the project. Our first goal is to design and plan a project, and complete it successfully by working as a team. Our second goal is to produce an open-source web-service application that uses IoT to solve problems that are relevant to the population in Calgary. Our third goal is to learn more about the OGC standards for IoT, and to develop a prototype that uses the specifications that were outlined by the OGC committee. Our final goal is to improve our project management skills by using GitHub.

Currently doing an overall edit. I will try to post an updated .odt file by noon... 26/09/2013

Hey @kathleen-a, @hnanduri92, @acummins, @b-en:

I saw @kathleen-a's latest update. It looks good. For future reference, you don't need to make a separate file (a la Draft2.odt). Remember, git is a versioning system, so we shouldn't need to track that manually. I've merged the changes and updated the pdf file. If there are any further edits, please let me know by the end of the day.

@kathleen-a @b-en @hnanduri92 @acummins I uploaded one final draft and will be uploading the final proposal to Blackboard at 5:00PM. If anyone wants to do any further editing, please contact me before this time and let me know what you're changing. Cheers.
