Think I have this tracked down. The crash was because the pairing generation resulted in a player with no acceptable opponents. Basically, the drop combination resulted in a slightly unexpected pair down scenario. I'm going to add some more robustness to it and handle the no good matches scenario by making the bad match, and alerting the user to make manual changes to get a good pairing.
This event ended early as a result of drops after the second round, but the app crashed generating pairs for the third. I entered the drop at the beginning of the thir round, but I'm not sure that I input them correctly since it crashed immediately after.
