With two color sensors, code an aligner subsystem and command. Basically as you drive forward, if it detects the black tape, it stops that side of the drivetrain.

Changed color sensor to retroreflective sensor.

Retroreflective sensor should be around 3 inches above the surface of the carpet to properly function.
