Video broadcast not going out #62

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Any version of Webcam Studio
2. Any version of Flash
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Expected output is that of what my webcam detects. I see this fine in WCS, but
trying to broadcast, websites like Stickam or tinychat will not detect my
webcam without WCS. Broadcasting does not occur.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
WCS .57 Beta, Ubuntu 10.04 LTS.

Please provide any additional information below.
I have a 3.2 GHZ P4 with Hyperthreading, 2 gigs of RAM, and 128 MB video card.
I'm using an old USB Labtec webcam (on Windows, it would use the 6.0.1 Labtec
software). I cannot get any websites to detect my webcam, even with proper
Flash settings. However, my netbook (Intel Atom 1.6 dual core, 1 gb RAM, built
in camera, Acer Aspire, Ubuntu 10.04), any site picks up that webcam and works
fine, so there isn't much of a need for WCS on my netbook. Even after
uninstalling WCS and restarting the computer, my webcam still remains
undetected. With WCS installed, all the websites will pick up is Webcam Studio
Input 0 (v4l2 device) and then subsequently will display no image, a black
square-webcam works and displays fine in WCS, or even Cheese webcam booth-or
will say that the device is in use by another program. Any help would be much
appreciated, so thanks in advance, I'm at my wits end.

Slight edit: My netbook picks up its embedded camera just fine and I have yet
to try another camera with it. Since it's embedded camera works both in
broadcast and WCS, haven't had much of a need to try another camera on the
netbook. Being a netbook though, it has a much smaller screen than a desktop,
and I'd prefer to be able to use my desktop.

Never mind, issue has been self-resolved. Not exactly sure what I did to fix it
other than by actually logging into Stickam itself, instead of trying to do it
through an embedded player. Currently using the beta of Flash 11+ and WCS .57
Beta 4 Build 191. Still unsure about tinychat.
