[Issue]: Server half-freezing (but not crashing) when using Silent Gear Saw on Blackwood Tree #77

What happened?

So we are not sure how to handle this error and not sure if it really is related to the Blackwood tree but we have used the saw many times on many different trees and had 2 occurrences of the server half-freezing when using the saw on a blackwood tree. It doesn't happen all the time but it did twice within a few hours. The server stops responding like it has a little freeze but some things like ftb backup still try to do backups (but fail). The server is still ticking, at least thats what the ram usage shows, items also despawn but you can't pickup, destroy etc. anymore. It doesn't react to commands anymore but some things still tick. Sadly I don't have any crash logs or other related log entries as I did not find anything related to this issue.

Here you can see that he still tries to do the backup but fails as almost everything is frozen: image

  1. Use Silent Gear Saw on Blackwood tree
  2. Profit Server freezes

After 15min the Server crashed, I've attached the main part of the crash log to the post.

I've also seen there are issues like this on the Silent Gear GitHub but they are from 2021.... e.g. https://github.com/SilentChaos512/Silent-Gear/issues/402

Yes this issue has been around for years. I'd just recommend not using the saw and use Ultimine instead.

Okay, thats strange. We extensively played both LL5 & LL6 and used the saw A LOT as we think ultimine is quite overpowered. Strangely we never had this issue once in the last two modpacks. But I guess we can't do anything about it. Still, thanks!
