Controller overlay graphic (still needs some polish).
Polished version
I purposely left the Windows flag on the right. Thought it was a nice contrast to the Tux I added on the left
There'll be text for those are who color blind, introducing the controls in a rhyming fashion.
Dorothy, as of now.
I'm trying to come up with more gruesome and disturbing design ideas (although her scratching out her own eye is pretty disturbing already).
There won't be any animation for her. She'll just float around in a bubble. Maybe I'll animate the blood dripping from her leg and face, depending on how well these details even pop.
That looks great. Don't forget that's we have 1 day and some hours till jam end

I'm aware.
Do you think we can finish the gameplay loop today (the green orb mechanics, damage to the player and the player damaging the mobs, picking up book pages that display a full screen overlay that can be closed by pressing space/A, level transition after n minutes) and set up a proper main menu, then spend tomorrow applying some polish and dealing with level 2?
I think it's manageable. If a bit anxiety inducing.
Almost done with enemy type 1 (E1)
The other two will just be color variations of a zombie-like creature, so I can focus on other things and help finish the gameplay loop today, @RuinedKingg
Okay. I'm currently working on damage mechanics

Awesome! I'm currently finishing texture work, so we should hopefully have a nicely tiled map soon.
Thanks for the great work thus far!
Just merged some art changes. Added character sprites and an initial tileset.
Can you combine this yellow bricks into one atlas? Like this

Done
TODO (for game jam)
Thought I might as well have a place to track my art progress.
Currently, I'm working on this tile and several variations of it.
The brick isn't seamless yet, but this should be fixed with a couple pixels.
