miRNA star transcript [sf#153] #153

Reported by nlw on 2009-05-27 17:57 UTC need a term for the antisense part of a miRNA. mature strand is the side that represents the functional miRNA, the * strand is the other side (opposite strand in miRNA hairpin).

Commented by eilbeck on 2009-05-27 19:09 UTC Hi No - RNA_sequence_secondary_structure is moving to RNAO. It does not really fit there anyway. If it is a part of the primary transcript, then it should be is_a miRNA_primary_transcript_region. --K

Commented by eilbeck on 2009-05-27 22:00 UTC OK, so the region comes from the same pri miRNA. I call it miRNA_antiguide. I made this the definition: A region of the pri miRNA that basepairs with the guide to form the hairpin. I made these the synonyms: miRNA antiguide, miRNA passenger strand, miRNA star.
