Accession: SO:0001668 Synonym: (add) promoter proximal region Def: DNA segment that ranges from about -250 to -40 relative to +1 of RNA transcription start site, where sequence specific DNA-binding transcription factors binds, such as Sp1, CTF (CCAAT-binding transcription factor), and CBF (CCAAT-box binding factor). Children: CTF binding site, CBF binding site, Sp1 binding site Ref: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9679020, http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12515390

From @keilbeck

Hi MeiYee Is a CTF_binding_site always a part of a proximal promoter region or can it be part of other things? Does a proximal promoter always have a part that is a CTF binding site? I am trying to figure out what the relationship should be. part of or has part or neither --K
