This issue accompanies the Git Good: Introduction to GitHub workshop developed by the Research Community Management team at The Alan Turing Institute. We're so glad you're here! 🎉

Instructions Summary

This is what GitHub calls an "Issue" (you can think of it like a task or a discussion post).

Comment 1:

Say "Hi" and add your favourite snack.

Comment 2:

In your groups of two, please look up online and find 1-2 organisations, groups, projects and/or companies that use GitHub, then comment on the issue below. Include links to a repository.
- For example, GitHub is a company that uses GitHub too: https://github.com/orgs/github/repositories <-- it has 496 repositories publicly visible.
- TikTok also uses GitHub: https://github.com/tiktok <-- it has 13 repositories (maybe they don't have all their repository publicly visible)

If you need help with the second comment, you can use these website to get started:

The Alan Turing Institute uses GitHub - check for some interesting projects: https://github.com/alan-turing-institute/

Ask your instructor if you're stuck!

The instructors will then assign you a number which will be really important for Exercise 2 so make sure to check back here before starting the second exercise.
