A small correction: page 178-180 is where I noticed something. But, as I mentioned, I'm not sure, so I pasted the entire log.
Update 04/18/2024: I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling Wineskin just in case. I'm still using the same engine and pretty much everything else from before. This time, I installed the game in "Program Files" rather than "Program Files (86)", and it appears that I am able to click enter and get past the freezing; I can even hear the sound prompted before you start the game, but it appears that that is the end of the road, as nothing appears after that, as shown here:

Here is the new LastRunWine.log that goes with it; unfortunately, like the previous one, this log is extremely long, at 180 pages, and, like the previous one, you can just skim to the end, but I believe it's best to read from the top for this one. There's no rush for anyone to respond quickly because this seems to be a very complicated issue. I'll provide another update after I actually purchase the game, and if the problem has been resolved by then, I'll close this bug report and notify everyone about it.
did it work? I also installed from steamunlocked and i can't start the game, is there any tips?
Environment (please complete the following information):
Describe the bug
Whenever I try to launch the game "Slow Damage", it freezes when I reach the point where I click "Enter" to start the game, and I have to use "Force Quit" to close the game. (Note: in case my wording is unclear, it freezes when I click Enter.)
To Reproduce
1.) Install Slow Damage from Steam Unlocked. (Essentially, a cracked game is being used.) 2.) Go through the installation/Setup process for Slow damage Via Wineskin. 3.) Finish the installation/setup process by simply reaching the "Completing the Slow Damage Setup Wizard" and clicking "Finish" to begin playing. 4.) See error.
Expected behavior
After installing Slow Damage from Steamunlocked, I expected the application to run smoothly, with maybe a few errors (lag, crash, etc.) because this is a cracked game. Still, I wasn't expecting such a major issue as not being able to play the game at all.
Screenshots
(As you can see, the "Press Enter Key" has a low opacity because it froze in between fading in and out as I pressed enter to begin playing.)
For this screenshot, I was always perplexed by the System info section; first, Slow damage requires Windows 8 or higher to play, IIRC, so I never understood the "Windows XP" part in the system info; I checked Winecfg already to double-check that I hadn't put Windows XP or anything, and it said Windows 10. Essentially, the items listed in the system information section appear to be quite out of date. Perhaps this is causing my problems, but I won't know until I buy the game (which I will probably do when I can).
LastRunWine.log
(I attempted to post the full log, but it was extremely long (passed 65536 characters), so I attached a PDF instead. As you can see, the log is extremely long, as it is 180 pages long, which I apologize for in advance.
LastRunWine.log.pdf
(I'm not sure where the error appears, but there is something on the last page (180), but I just included the entire log because I wasn't sure.)
Additional context
The current engine I am using is the one that produces the best results when I try to play this game. I tried the other ones, including the most recent, but they all resulted in a non-responsive black screen. I've also tried crossover and ran into the same problem as described here. I'm not using a virtual machine via Parallels or UTM because I have issues with those, unfortunately. This isn't my first time on Github, but it is my first time doing something like this, as I am more of a lurker. Please let me know if I did anything incorrectly when filling out this form, and I'll hopefully respond quickly enough to correct it.
Slow Damage is more of a visual novel than a game, but it's technically a game as well. I know it can be difficult to get visual novels on Mac, so that could be a factor. I've tried a lot of different strategies to play this game in the past few days, so this is more of a last-ditch effort on my part, but even so, I'll give it everything I've got to try to solve the problem.
(Note: iirc= if i remember correctly.)
