Task 3: Database Construction

Hi everyone, After our combined meeting today we had a couple of questions as a group:

• Is there a preference between Excel or Google Sheets? Excel was given in the meeting but just wanted to check
• There's quite a bit of data in the existing Dropbox link but it was brought up last workshop that it might be easier for us to first try and organise the data that the 6 of us submitted this semester. Is it possible that this could be uploaded?
• Data Visualisation group already brought up the possibility of using non-survey data to supplement their visualisation tools but would it be best for the database group to be organising the same data? I.e. the information matches up between the two outputs being produced.

Hopefully that makes sense but we can always flesh it out in follow-up meetings!

Hello!

1. We have a preference for Excel only because there may be limits to what is achievable in Google Sheets but if you can do everything you want in Google Sheets this is good because then we can share/collaborate on it easier.

2. I've got the data downloaded I just need to put it into the Dropbox folder - I will do this ASAP and let you know when I've done it

3. Yes, we prefer that the visualisation group stick closely to the data that is collected in the challenges. Other information can be added, but we really want to all stem from the research conducted and data collect in the challenges. You can see what I've suggested to them in this issue #33
