Video Presentation #36

Good morning @kym834 @yaelago !!

I'm attaching the link to our draft for the video presentation below, please let us know what we can do to make it better! We tried to do our video a little different from just the stock standard Powerpoint slides, and I hope it isn't too busy or confusing.

Two side notes: One, (I didn't get to discuss this with the group yet because it was finished late last night, but would love your opinion!) there are some parts of the video that just seems a little slow possibly because there are parts without visuals, and so I thought of adding in some really light and quiet background music. I found this free site (https://maxkomusic.com/albums/corporate-presentation-music/ specifically the one labelled "Science") that I think could fit our presentation nicely! I am worried that it might come off as a little gimmicky or like a product placement πŸ˜† I think at this point I'm just too close to it, so please let me know! And second, I think our very end still needs a little work, because I wasn't 100% sure what visuals we wanted because I didn't want it to be too unrelated and general + the voice recording ends a little abruptly. We have couple ideas, but would love any suggestions!

Thank you for all your help πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

Thanks @carolineson. This link doesn't seem to work for me - I can hear the audio, but don't see anything. Could you check and resend? πŸ™

Hi @yaelago, I apologise! I did a download check this morning and it worked fine, but it looked like my OneDrive was not very happy with me because the file was so large! I've re-uploaded it to the shared Google Drive document instead (hopefully that will work!), so please let me know if it doesn't! Thanks @carolineson for this new link - works well. and good job all for a really engaging video! The visuals that pop up on the screen are fun and engaging and illustrate the points you are making in the video. My main concern though is how fast the visuals appear and disappear from the screen. Viewers really don't have enough to engage with the images, let alone read the text. So I would suggest leaving the images longer and have them move around slower. Remember this is the first time viewer will hear about the project, and they're already asked to multitask with speech and images - so make the rest easier for them. On a similar note, try not to overlay images and text on the speakers' face, and also check the colors you choose for the text to make sure is it as readable as possible. It's great that you added references sources, make sure they come up at the right timing with the appropriate visuals. Lastly, it is always nice to state all the names of the participant in the project (maybe add your pictures as the last slide?) and acknowledge the help of your mentors and supervisors. Good luck all and awesome work!

As to your question above, I don't see the need for added music...

Hey Everyone!

Just had a watch of the video! Looking good for a first draft! Make sure you take the advice from above to improve it and make it engaging for the audience.

@dzheng918 @olwu3220 I know you wanted some practice questions so here are some that I came up with after watching the video. I've also added some extra points that you could focus on when answering each question. They are pretty standard questions but have a go at answering them :)
