We are really lucky to have @hopedisastro and @Afnanarshad working as part of Breaking Good over the Winter Break. It would be fabulous if you guys could both introduce your self on a new page on the Wiki each (please make a page and explain a little bit about yourself and why you joined the project this winter). We then need to work on some videos :) Use of GitHub can be a little confusing for citizen scientists to join GitHub. Could you make a video to show people how to sign up? We would then need a video on how to create an Issue and how to create a Wiki Page...you could even make a vide of you creating content. Any questions/queries post below :)
Hi Alice!
Perhaps I'm going about it the wrong way, but I can't seem to create a new page on the Wiki. I followed the instructions on this site: https://help.github.com/articles/adding-wiki-pages-via-the-online-interface/ but step 3 ("From the top menu bar, click New Page") isn't an option for me.
I've created a video that explains the sign-up process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4w2358wrUU Here's a second video that explains repositories, issues, and adding collaborators to a repository: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h940GnaOp-8
Please let me know if there's any changes you'd like to make to it or ideas you have to improve it.
Attached below is the title slide I used.
Hi, I found GitHub Training & Guides on youtube interesting. We can use ideas from the channel to make the videos more informative if they do not meet the criteria.
For example

If someone really needs to know exactly how GitHub works then: https://lab.github.com/courses/introduction-to-github It works like step by step tutorial( assigning yourself an issue/close an issue/open a pull request). The step by step Walkthrough: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sz6zfrQpCQg
Another link I found useful What is Github https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w3jLJU7DT5E

Hi all :) Some new content below: BreakingGood-specific videos: Lab Entries and Wikis: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6d32KBhvgtE
Hi everyone! I’ve made a video explaining how to navigate and find data on the Master Chemical List: https://youtu.be/xX7c3AFWlk0 Please let me know if you have any ideas for changes to improve it.
EDIT: Added a new video on using an online open source editor to draw molecules: https://youtu.be/KZrVisLS9OQ The link to the Ketcher molecule drawer is: http://lifescience.opensource.epam.com/ketcher/demo.html
This project seeks to build platforms/videos to make the Breaking Good Project more accessible for Citizen Scientists and easier to use.
