I think the way I should approach this is to basically distill the building blocks of Class/Path Features from D&D and similar roleplaying games and create archetype trees that characters can advance down. The initial implementation should use all of the planned combat techniques, but leave room for cool flavorful extras to be added in the future.
This may be a lot for a single project item, so additional issues are probably going to be a good idea when I move this out of "To do"
Summary
Combat in Simply Roleplaying is one of the weakest parts of it, since it's just a series of skill competitions. Simply Roleplaying needs a way to spice this up, perhaps by creating a Combat Techniques module?
