Thank you for this script, it's great! Unfortunately, touchpad on acer c720 doesn't work with ver. 0.3.2.2. May be it is possible to do something with it?

Hi,

I'll look into the issue this weekend and will let you know when fixed.

Will post a manual fix tommorow if you want to try that and at least have a working touchpad.

Thanks for reporting the bug

Thank you. Manual fix from this http://www.reddit.com/r/chrubuntu/comments/1rsxkd/list_of_fixes_for_xubuntu_1310_on_the_acer_c720/ list or not? I'm going to try some of them.

Same problem here unfortunately. I had to manually upgrade the kernel and run through Step 5 from here: http://realityequation.net/installing-elementary-os-on-an-hp-chromebook-14

ksclark commented 10 years ago

Hello, Is there a fix for the touchpad available yet?

I tried the fix listed at reality equation and it seems to hose the system on the acer C-720. I also tried the fix listed at the reddit link and no luck.

TheScogg commented 10 years ago

Same experience here as elmezie. Not only did it not make the touchpad work, now I don't have sound or wifi.

sinanboecker commented 10 years ago

The fix lukebennett posted worked like a charm for me

TheFrankyJoe commented 10 years ago

Sorry guys for not posting a fix, I'm really busy with work right now and don't have much time to maintain/develop ChromeeOS. Hopefully, this will change in a near future.

sinanboecker commented 10 years ago

This should be fixed with Kernel 3.17 https://git.kernel.org/cgit/linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git/commit/?id=58d08e3b2c2033354b91467da33deffa06360c28

Updated to Kernel 3.17 RC1 and seems to have fixed the touchpad issue on C720.

kernel 3.17 RC1 works fine on my HP Chromebook 14.

Not sure if this script was every supposed to give you functioning F keys but it doesn't on the Acer C720. Also be aware, if you upgrade to 3.17 kernel the boot time will treble.

TheFrankyJoe commented 9 years ago

It worked in the past, but the device profile for the Acer C720 haven't been maintained in a while, and I don't have much time to do that right not.

I wrote up my experience with instructions on how I got the trackpad working again:

https://gist.github.com/adamjohnson/b8a597a07f2a0934d793

Note: Many times after updating via the "Update Manager" I had to go through these steps again.

Can anyone confirm whether or not Freya fixes this trackpad issue?
