So when you tick hide/remove box that mesh will be hidden and you can see the character you are creating from the multi-meshes... Then when you press Save only the shown meshes are saved in the DBO file. This way you can create multiple characters from the one source FBX file..
Some FBX models are supplied as a MultiMesh file. Rather like your Character Creator they contain :- Multiple Head Meshes. Multiple Cloths. Multiple Armour. Multiple Weapons. Multiple Hair - Beards
The Model Importer does a great job of showing all these meshes in a dropdown listbox. But what is required is a custimize option. I suggest an option box (Hide/Remove) in the texture secion. So when you tick hide/remove box that mesh
