From Lemuripest 93:

This has been recommended twice during broadcasts, and if i don't remember this wrong it was said first time around that this was possible to add due to it already existing within FPSCreator? in any case this would be a valuable addition to the editor (and outside of it as well.)

As a user and If I remember rightly FPS Creator was using the effect cubeent.fx which isn't in GGmax it uses a different system. Maybe they will find another to create breakable glass in the future. Breakable glass would great to see in GGmax. Maybe someone could make a breakable glass script and have it as a behavior. I also think you would need an effect added to the effects bank.

@Tam51 Oh yeah, i wasn't trying to imply that they should just pull the existing effect from FPSC and put it into GameGuru Max, basically what i meant was that since they already developed the technology once, they should be able to recreate it in a modern form for Max.

I recorded some footage in two games as a point of reference, since i think the technologies are applicable but obviously need the right amount of tweaking for performance sake.

The first thing i recorded was some footage in CyberPunk 2077: https://youtu.be/lPt--wMgSi0

Has some nice chunky pieces of glass flying everywhere (some of which even stick together and can be shot apart after they've fallen,) but i'm guessing something similar to this in Max would be very performance intensive, looks great though.

The second choice was to record some footage from Garry's Mod, because i love Source games and i think this type of effect would still look good: https://youtu.be/HSA1isLKwJs

Recreating something similar with a higher-res texture would work just fine and wouldn't be too performance intensive either i would think, especially with open-world games in Max being something that people wanna make, this is important.

[Per usual the game footage is just meant to be a source of inspiration, not implying neither effect should be ripped off.]

That's what I was meaning a modern way to have breakable glass that also looks really cool would be very nice to see in GGmax. It could open up new ideas for game levels so much. Maybe we could have enemies that could break glass as well.
