As the title say, the explosions in MAX are below the standard of modern games and need improving. Ideally an explosion maker would be created to allow custom explosions, with decals/particles being added a xxx milliseconds, allowing for multipart explosions to be generated.
E.G.
Generate explosion 1 at start
Play Sound 1
Generate explosion 2 at 100 milliseconds
Play Sound 2
Generate explosion 3 at 500 milliseconds
Play Sound 3
Generate smoke at 1000 milliseconds
Play Sound 4
etc.
