Project Lockdown (an initiative from The IO Foundation) is a civic tech, interactive platform providing an overview of the state of Human and Digital Rights around the globe. It evaluates policies obtained from official sources that may impact their observance. It provides, among other tools, a layered map interface that allows for a visual representation of the policies adopted, assisting a broad range of stakeholders in understanding the global state of their Rights. This empowers them to become active agents of global change.
The Back end MongoDB developer will be a part of the Developers Team and will be responsible for coordinating with Team Infrastructure to ensure the optimization of DB.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
-- Experience with MongoDB and MongoDB schemas
-- Proactive in documenting their code following the project's guidelines
-- Experience with Open Data standards & schemas
-- Comfortable with GitHub
-- Comfortable with HTML, CSS, Javascript and JSON
-- English (sufficiently fluent)
-- Able to dedicate a number of hours proportional to the position level
-- Able to participate in a highly dynamic environment as a part of a team
-- Able to learn independently
Desirable
-- 3 years of experience working on medium-sized projects
-- Familiar with Agile methodology
