TheIOFoundation / ProjectLockdown

Project Lockdown (an initiative from The IO Foundation) is a civic tech, interactive platform providing an overview of the state of Human and Digital Rights around the globe. It evaluates policies obtained from official sources that may impact their observance. It provides, among other tools, a layered map interface that allows for a visual representation of the policies adopted, assisting a broad range of stakeholders in understanding the global state of their Rights. This empowers them to become active agents of global change.

Problem

When branching out the repo, the static page provider (currently Netlify; planning Azure) with automatically create a new deploy. Unfortunately, the address of such deploy, as the host name is generated randomly, is not known unless the user has access to the provider management interface.

Objectives

To be able to automatically document and make easily available and accessible the URL of any branch.

Proposed solution

None at this stage. Ideas?

@JFQueralt Would slack channel with notifications about deploys be a good solution?

I don't have access to PLD's Netlify settings but the configuration is straightforward and documented here: https://docs.netlify.com/site-deploys/notifications/#slack-notifications
