Hello
I am sorry for slow answers. The zoom and focus motors are stepper motors, so reproducing their values is quite accurate. The Iris is a little bit different, because as far as I know, it is a magnetic coil, that controls it.
If frequently adjusted can the lens
return
to the commanded position accurately?
Yes, it does. At least it did in our trials.
I also don't see data on the durability of the lens assembly, can it be frequently adjusted without damaging the lens mechanics?
There will be wear there, but the lens manufacturer specifies several 100000 cycles.

I've requested information about this camera through the US office but it seems they are just a sales force, it's painfully slow to get a technical answer from that side so I can only think to ask here.
The documentation doesn't go into great detail about the motorized lens. It looks as though it is only software controllable through the Genicam interface. The Zoom, Focus, and Iris are set as parameter values, this infers that they are capable of tracking/detecting current position, how repeatable is the lens positioning? If frequently adjusted can the lens return to the commanded position accurately?
