As discussed with Sean, please can MD read an environment variable at launch, and then if set, bypass the enter encryption passphrase input box.. Read the passphrase from the environment variable and use that to open the dataset. Perhaps clear the variable after usage...
This would enable a safe way for people to use the -invoke[_and_quit] parameter(s) to auto run extensions and would help prevent the various 'hacks' being invented to bypass the passphrase entry.
