Stuck on 'finding strangers' issue #1

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. just try and connect
2.
3.

I have seen this on OmegleSpy original, i am wondering if my v1.5 has fixed it.
as i said before i have only seen this issue when a captcha fails, v1.5 has
more captcha event handling and will hopefully solve it.

people with this issue please reply.

visit bajor.omegle.com does it work if you are just using a browser?

possible issues:
* Firewall is blocking java.
* check both local firewall and router firewall settings

Questions:
* if omegle doesnt work in a browser, try changing ur ip (anyway) and tell me
if it works after that
* did the app ever work? did omegle ever work?

Omegle and the app were working last weekend, but a few days ago both began not
working.
If the issue is the router, I can't do anything about it, since I'm on campus.
I keep my firewall off.

I would try; next time your out and about stop at a starbucks and try it
through wifi if it works then your campus has blocked or omegle blocked ur
campus. if it still doesnt work then we might be able to find a fix.

No problem, but its not just for you. If I am going to be the one continuing
the development of OmegleSpy then I want to do it right, this means I want to
try and fix as many bugs as I can catch. So going through the motions with you
ultimately helps you, me, and everyone who uses the application.

So thank you for helping me resolve your issue.

Good news and Bad news for ya @sometat...@hotmail.com (hotmail? wtf dude get
gmail 1000% better) anyhow,

first the good news for you: It looks like I will be able to solve your issue
much faster for you. because..

bad news for me: I was doing some developing on the OmegleSpyX when all of a
sudden I got your issue! now I can connect, which is great now I can really get
down to the bottom of the issue. (im un-bannable so ill get out of it)

I put everything I got into 1000% debug mode so I was being spit everything
omegle servers where comm.ing to me and it 100% looks like a ban. Im sure they
caught onto me because I ahve been developing for the last 4 hours with prolly
high 600 connects and disconnects.

this is what happening:

1) I say hello to omegle and to get a chat id
2) Omegle says 'sup' and passes it to me
3) i send out a start command and normally at this point you get a 'Waiting'
que but it goes straight to a stranger disconnected que.

and i tried multiple servers, so that tells me its 99% sure a ban, perhaps an
autoban for to many connections in a period or something of that nature (to
stop bots im sure) because I know they didnt target me as they cant tell if im
a user in a browser or not. All they see is two connections for everyone one
connect and then me doing that 100x's within an hour developing. Im guessing
its an auto triggerd ban for throttling. Explains why your campus got it,
perhaps you had 50 people on omegle at one time all looking for females so they
kept d/c'ing..

Anyways I have to wait till tomorrow to change ip and test it that way, ill let
you know what I find.

That's a very interesting bit of information you have there, and I certainly
laughed at "I'm un-bannable". I'm glad you figured out what the issue was, and
not just for me, but for the project as a whole.

Issue Closed and Resolved.

Final: Alright it is confirmed. If you are having this issue, Omegle has banned
your IP address.

Reason: Until I get more fact leaning the opposite way, I have to assume the
ban has nothing todo with running OmegleSpy(x). All the information I have
gathered I am lead to assume its from an auto ban script that looks at your
trigger times (connect/disconnect speed) I would assume to fight ad bots.

Fix:
* Email Omegle tell them your issue (dont mention ban or omeglespy(x)) and see
if they can lift it.
* Change IP (dynamic router, web/tcp proxy, web source, so on..)
* Wait until the ban is lifted (if its lifted at all).

Avoidance:
* Dont use 'auto reconnect' to slow down trigger times.
* Try not to spend to long using omeglespy at one time, spread it out. (you
have to understand using omeglespy make it look like you are using it 2x+ what
you really are. nature of the beast.).
* If you can, Only use omeglespy behind a proxy (a tcp app proxy would work
great), omegle doesn't take much bandwidth, even slow proxys would work fine on
omegle.. (your downloading single lines of text, not movies.)

Note: I have emailed Omegle just now stating that I am having this issue and
*gently* asked what caused it and how to fix it. I will post there response, if
any.

Sorry there isnt much I can do about this. This issue is completely server
side.

I'm having an issue with this that actually started as being ip banned from
Omegle, but now appears to be a deeper issue.

After I realized I was banned I started using proxies, and it worked for
awhile, but recently the proxies, which although still work for the official
Omegle site, do not work for this program, or the older version of it.

When I was banned I could not access the site or use the program. Now I can use
the main site with these proxies, but not the program, which leads me to
believe that banning is not the (only) issue.

Except I am masking all connections using a proxy app, which is why it worked
previously.

Can you change the network settings from where it connects?

I had the problem aswell, a 'hot-fix' is to download Hotspot Shield, it's
freeware and works a charm.

Or perhaps an app such as proxify?

Omegle has lots of these servers, there should be a randomizeing function on
app startup that picks one of the many, such as:

promenade.omegle.com
cardassia.omegle.com

just goto http://omegle.com and view source for the one it connects your area
to. It might need a swap or two to get it working.
