Alcatel Avalon V 5059s - was working and has stopped #35

Hello - I put your wonderful app on my elderly father's phone and it answered his phone the first day and now today, the second day it is not working at all. I have restarted the phone, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, to no avail.

The phone is running Android 8 and is an Alcatel Avalon V 5059s.

The log is attached. Raise to Answer Log.txt

Looking at your log file, the proximity sensor did not update a single time. Just to be certain, you did hold the phone against your ear during the testing?

Thank you for the fast response! Yes, it was raised up to my ear during the testing. I just tried it again to make sure the log file looked the same when I was deliberate about doing that and it did.

I have cleaned the phone around the top of the screen and after a couple of times of doing that the app is now answering the phone (for now).

After having success I ran another log. I don't see anything different in this log file (no proximity updates). Are they there and I am missing them?

I see 2 entries for the proximity sensor:

PROXIMITY 5.000305

and later

PROXIMITY 0.0

So there is an update right here, but it is quite easy easy to miss in between all the INCLINATION changes.

Some proximity sensors only really ever report 2 values: far away or nearby. It seems yours is one of those, so this behaviour makes sense: it updated once when you held it to your ear.

So it seems like it most likely was a dirt issue. I'll close the issue now, but feel free to reopen if it happens again!
